Apparently EVERY other elementary teacher studies penguins in winter...well that is fine if you teach kindergarten, but I teach 1/2 so that means that they have already learned about them once or twice. I nearly cut the unit all together but now I am putting a unique spin on it. Hence the picture, meet my 10:00pm origami penguin...
In other classroom news (which is my whole life), our pet turtle Swimmy is really loving life. After seeing how another red-eared slider's tank was set up, I headed to the pet store. Swimmy's aquarium is now stocked with the most modern turtle dock you can get, which means we increased his water level and he is really swimming these days. Now if we could just get a self-cleaning aquarium and we would be set... will post pictures, maybe...if I get around to it!
